On Friday March 2nd, 2012 a devastating tornado rushed through Henryville Indiana destroying at least 200 homes in its path, leaving their occupants homeless. These people are our neighbors, and many lost everything, from their homes, to their cars, to their clothes, to their family pictures. ?Now, an enterprising group of car enthusiasts are getting together for a car show this weekend, to benefit the children affected by the tornado.
Saturday, March 24th, 2012 from 2 to 6 p.m., a car/truck/bike show will be held at the Henryville Forestry (Clark State Forest) in Henryville Indiana.? All car lovers from surrounding counties?and especially folks from Louisville?are invited to come and participate.? The sponsors want people to bring their cars, trucks, and motorcycles for display.? Admission is a kid's toy, school supply, or something you think could put a smile on a child's face.
The event promises to be an afternoon of fun and spectacular automotive display.? There will be classic cars, hotrods, mini trucks, and maybe even some monster trucks and race cars.? There will be a DJ, activities for the kids, and food will be available.? Red Cross representatives will be present, and families are encouraged to enjoy the picnic atmosphere at the breathtakingly beautiful Clark State Forest.
If you will be traveling from Louisville on Interstate 65 North, you will want to take the Henryville Exit 19, and then turn right off the exit.? Go about a quarter-mile to the stoplight, and turn left onto Highway 31.? Look for the Clark State Forest sign.
